Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Giftlist (gifts.firstwebdev.co.uk). Giftlist is run by First Impressions App Development Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 13708714, registered office 82A James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at russ.a.sherwood@gmail.com. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Your account
- You must be 18 or over, and give us a real email address.
- Keep your password private. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
- Giftlist is for your personal, non-commercial gift planning.
2. Free plan and Premium
- The free plan lets you plan gifts for up to 2 people.
- Premium costs £5/year (including any VAT that applies) and lets you plan for as many people as you like, and keep a record of past gifts.
- Premium is paid yearly in advance through our payment provider, Stripe. It renews automatically each year until you cancel.
- If we change the price, we’ll email you at least 30 days before your next renewal. You can cancel before the new price applies.
3. Cancelling and refunds
- You can cancel at any time from Account → Manage subscription. Premium continues until the end of the year you’ve paid for and then doesn’t renew.
- Your 14-day cancellation right: UK consumer law normally gives you 14 days to cancel a digital service. Premium starts as soon as you pay, and at checkout you agree that it starts immediately and that your 14-day right ends once it does. Even so, if you ask within 14 days of your first payment, we’ll give you a full refund. Just email us.
- We don’t otherwise refund renewals or part-years, unless the law requires it or section 8 applies.
- If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will retry for a while. If it can’t take payment, Premium ends.
4. When Premium ends
Nothing is deleted. The first 2 people you added stay fully editable. Everyone else becomes read-only (you can still see and delete them) until you upgrade again. Past gifts are kept but hidden until you upgrade again.
5. Your content
- The lists, notes and links you add are yours. You give us permission to store them and show them to you, which is what we need to run Giftlist.
- Only add information about other people that you need for gift planning. Don’t add anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights.
- Product pictures are fetched from the links you add, or generated from the item name. They’re there to help you recognise items; don’t reuse them elsewhere. Prices and pictures can be out of date, so always check the shop before buying.
6. Fair use
Don’t try to break, overload, scrape or get unauthorised access to Giftlist or other people’s accounts. Don’t use it to send spam or for anything illegal. We may suspend or close accounts that do, and we’ll tell you why unless the law prevents it.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep Giftlist running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may improve or change features. If a change significantly reduces what Premium includes, we’ll tell you, and you can cancel and get a refund for the unused part of your year.
8. Ending the service
- You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account. Cancel any active subscription first.
- If we ever close Giftlist, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice so you can save your lists, and we’ll refund the unused part of any Premium year.
9. Our responsibility to you
- Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
- Otherwise, we aren’t responsible for losses we couldn’t reasonably foresee, or for anything to do with shops you buy from, the gifts themselves, or decisions you make using Giftlist.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem happened.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date above. For significant changes we’ll email you at least 30 days in advance. If you don’t agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there.
